Mr. Ed Russo from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children will give a lecture on Internet and Social Media Safety for our parents. Ed Russo is the Senior Program Coordinator who works with educators, law enforcement, private security personnel, community leaders, and government officials to implement child safety presentations in schools and communities. He will be speaking to parents about Internet Safety & Digital Citizenship topics which will include the vulnerabilities of children using current technology such as smart phones and social networking in terms of bullying and possible exploitation. Technology and mobile apps advance so quickly, it's hard to keep up with the latest online risks. However, our children quickly learn these apps and as responsible parents we must be informed. Mr. Russo will help you, the parent, and your children navigate a complicated virtual world. This informative session is for the parents of all children at our school. It is never too early to learn these dangers and it is imperative for 8th grade parents to be fully informed before your child goes to high school.  As parents, we must understand, what our children are doing, how it can endanger them, and what we can do to help.
